Wood poles can range to 25’ – 150’ in height and offer a more simplified installation process. Depending on the height of the wood pole guy wires will be required in the installation process.
Steel poles offer a more aesthetic look but require a harder installation process but can also range in height from 25’ – 200’’. Both types of poles offer stable and efficient solutions when installing a sports netting system. Tapered steel poles offer a clean look and efficient design while providing design efficiency by putting the strength where it is needed, at the base of the pole. A freestanding engineered steel pole can eliminate the maintenance and additional space issues of guyed systems. Pole taper and steel thickness are selected to match the applied loading all the way up the pole, to optimize steel usage and pole weight. Our end, corner, and angle poles can be designed as freestanding and precambered for a clean look, with none of the maintenance or spectator-hazard issues associated with guyed systems. Netex poles are built in sections up to 39 feet (12m) and 44 feet (13.4m) for 40- and 45-foot container transport. Installation is fast and easy, with slip-fit connections that eliminate the need for bolted flanges. Poles can be bolted to steel or concrete foundations, or direct-buried.
LED lighting can be integrated into your sport netting design. Netex can engineer tapered, steel poles to integrate LED stadium lights into your netting application, eliminating the need for additional lighting poles in your sports complex. The poles can also be used to mount any security cameras, banners, or flags that your facility requires. Whether you need to retrofit an existing system, or install brand-new lighting, we can help you create a lighting plan that provides the right amount of light for your facility.
Geotechnical Report / Engineering
A Geotechnical Report is used to determine what kind of soil/ clay is in the ground where poles will be placed. By doing this report it allows us to determine the digging conditions as well as the most appropriate material to use for our net posts.
Estimate
The estimate/quote is put together after the geotechnical report is received as it allows us to quote accordingly. The quote will contain all necessary factors that go into our net installation. It will cover net supply and installation, installing and standing poles (wood/ steel), installing hardware, installing guy wire, tensioning the cables, labor and equipment.
Posts/Hardware Installation
The post & hardware installation begins once the quote is accepted and deposits are paid. We will start by ordering in the required posts (wood/steel) and install the posts into the ground. To stand our posts we require either a crane or a radio boom digger, this is dependent on the height of the pole (55 feet – 150 feet). Once poles are securely installed we add the necessary hardware in order to hang the nets.
Measure Netting Materials
Measuring for the custom net is done after the poles are securely placed in the ground. To get an accurately sized net we measure for our custom made nets once the poles are secured in the ground. By doing this it allows for nets that are made to fit the specified area perfectly. Nets that are made too small or too big can cause flaws in the installation process and not perform to our standard. Once we measure we get the custom nets ordered.
Net Installation
Net installation occurs when nets are delivered from our manufacturer, then we will go back to site and install the nets. The net installation process requires a lift and additional hardware. Once the nets are installed we will finalize al
We offer repair & maintenance services that go towards the overall care of the nets to increase longevity. Seasonal maintenance is recommended for the sport nets, this includes retracting the nets into the poles at the end of the season and tying them to the poles then we will extend the nets back out at the beginning of the season. By doing this it eliminates potential ice build-up and extra weight during cold months. These external factors can cause the nets to rip or stretch thus reducing net durability.
Occasional repairs might be necessary for installed nets as it’s possible that trees or animals can cause small tears or snags. To repair the nets we stitch the net back up with the same material and match the aesthetics of the net and its durability.
